About MeIn 1998, I embarked upon a corporate career in Customer Service. where I worked my way up through the departments of a FTSE 100 company. My experience there included Public Relations, Corporate Communications, Customer Service Management, Web Content and eCommerce. Towards the latter end of this career, I became heavily involved in digital and social media, heading up projects to create social channels for many of the company's brands and leading the strategy for how they could be used to better communicate with customers and meet business goals. My results are still evident today, with over 10 million engaged with the business online.
During this time, I also started several of my own social media projects, practising the craft of growing communities, identifying and providing content for online audiences and using the emerging technologies and channels to experiment with how they could best serve both business and customers alike. By 2010 I had already created several successful online businesses in my spare time and decided to leave the corporate world behind and start out on my own. Socially-M was founded later that year as a consultancy that would enable me to share best practice with business clients as well as hone my unique approach to social media strategy, which I was consistently sharing online with people. Under the guise of 'Socially-M', a nickname gained from how I signed off my emails (Yours Socially, M), I have built a solid reputation as a reliable and effective one man social media agency. My work ethic and unique views when it comes to the application of social media, earned me the opportunity to work with many brands and businesses, as well as organisations and higher education faculties. These days I concentrate more on sharing my experience through bookings to speak professionally at events, conferences and with the digital teams of business and education organisations. I specialise in putting together bespoke talks, training and presentations to suit the organisation, theme or event. Where I've PresentedIt's been both a privilege and an education speaking with the organisations and at the events I've been fortunate to have been approached by.
